KING'S X to headline Sunday night at 3RP 2009!

21.Feb.2009

The King's will be holding their court in Pittsburgh as the Sunday Night Headliner at 3RP 2009.
The King's of the court are:
Doug (dUg) Pinnick - Bass / Lead and Backing Vocals
Ty Tabor - Lead Guitar / Lead and Backing Vocals
Jerry Gaskill - Drums, Percussion / Lead and Backing Vocals
Their magic together has created 15 Albums / CDs, many solo projects, and too many to name contributions to many other peoples music, (All since 1988). They started out playing together back in 1980 as the group The Edge, later in 1983 they became known as the Sneak Preview. In 1985 the band moved to Houston, Texas, there, they hooked up with Sam Taylor who was the vice president of ZZ Top's production company. Sam encourage them to change there bands name to King's X, and the name has been with them ever since.

The bands big breakthrough seemed to be coming when they released their 3rd album Faith, Hope, Love in 1990. The album was having relatively good success commercially, and they were able to land a great opportunity in 1991 as the opening act on many dates of the AC/DC - USA, and European Tours sold out shows. This helped the band to get more visability, and helped their album to do pretty well. But, they eventually experienced trouble with Sam Taylor, and parted ways. The next album was not as successful and was not noticed to much except for their close knit fan base. But, in 1994 they rejuvenated as Brendan O'Brien produced the 1994 release of Dogman. Brendan had just recently produced albums for Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. Dogman did pretty well on the music charts. The success of this album got King's X the opportunity to be the opening act for Pearl Jam on their tour. KING's X also gave an amazing performance at Woodstock 94' Festival

At one point KING's X was ranked #83 on the VH1's 100 GREATEST ARTISTS OF HARD ROCK.

KING's X crosses many great aspects of the music genre. From Progressive Metal, Metal Rock, Grunge, Funk, Soul, to Melodic Beatlesque Harmonies, Powerfull Riffs, and Time Signature Changes, KING's X will keep your blood pumping at 3RP.

IT BITES Sails into 3RP 2009

18.Dec.2008

IT BITES will be sailing into Pittsburgh on The Tall Ships for 3RP 2009. Their new album The Tall Ships has created quite a stir, and is having great success. IT BITES formed in 1982, and went on to have a great deal of success in the 1980's. In March 1986 the band released a demo song called All In Red which became their first single. Followed in June of the same year was another song Calling All The Heroes, which got a great deal of radio play. At that time they also made TV appearances on: Top Of The Pops, Wogan, and The Old Grey Whistle Test. Calling All The Heros raced up the UK top 40 Singles Charts and reached NUMBER 6. Then their single Whole New World hit the charts. Their debut album Big Lad In The Windmill was released in July 1986, and hit the charts at NUMBER 35. The band then went on to tour with such bands as: Go West, Marillion in late 1987, and with Robert Plant in early 1988. In 1988 they released their follow up album Once Around The World. IT BITES then went out on to tour across the UK, USA, and Japan, with tremendous success.

Eat Me In St. Louis was released in 1989. The band went out on tour again and were very popular with their Live performances, selling out shows across the UK, USA, and Japan, touring along with Jethro Tull. In 1990 Francis Dunnery announced he was leaving the band. This now ended the touring period for IT BITES. The musicians then went onto do other projects, including session work.
John Beck - ( Keyboards ) - hooked up to do session work with THE ALAN PARSON PROJECT and also with JOHN WETTON.
Bob Dalton - ( Drums ) - went on to do work with JOHN WETTON, CHRIS NORMAN, and RAY DAVIES.

JOHN and BOB got together with PETE TREWAVAS (Marillion) and JOHN MITCHELL (Arena) in the band KINO, and released the album PICTURE in 2005 with huge success on the Prog Rock Scene. IT BITES are now back together with John Mitchell and Lee Pomeroy joining John Beck and Bob Dalton. In my opinion their new release The Tall Ships is one of the best albums of 2008. IT BITES will be touring Europe in the first half of 2009. Your CHANCE to see IT BITES in North America will be at 3RP 2009.
